Jude started kindergarten this week! Yay Jude! He was so excited the night before his big day that he could barely sleep; it was so cute π What a milestone for him, and I am one proud mama! Here is a picture of Jude on his first day in his new back to school outfit, which he picked out himself π I was told he would be wearing super heroes only.
Money beliefs are a hot topic these days, and I think it’s important to get clear on a couple of things so that you can reach your financial goals π
I was working with a client this week on money beliefs. It was interesting to hear that he has a really hard time spending money on himself and feels really guilty when he does. Even more interesting is that he indicated one of his goals is to make more money. This example illustrates what is true for many of us. We say we want more money, but we’re not really clear on why that is and what we would do with it. In this case, we were able to uncover why he really would like to make more money and what eh would do with it.
Just saying that you simply want more money isn’t going to make it happen. You need to have specific goals (desires) within that big goal in order to create an emotional attachment to it. This will make it easier to achieve.
Chances are you have a number in mind of what you would like to make. Ask yourself why that number. What would you do with the money? What would your lifestyle look like? Earning money is about experiencing freedom. What does your freedom look like? It’s also about giving back. What would you do to give back and make a difference in your community (world)?
I had an issue in the past with this because even though I love the luxuries associated with earning money, it still seemed materialistic to me to want more. I knew I could reach more people the more money I made, but I still had an inner-conflict about money and couldn’t seem to justify earning more. It wasn’t until I was at a seminar hosted by a very successful entrepreneur that I turned a corner. She helps more and more people the more successful she becomes. It was great to hear her story, but it was this story that did it for me. One of her clients was doing so well that she started up a charitable organization and is now helping TONS of people because she has been so successful. It was the light I needed turned on in my brain. When I play big, it helps others play big, and in turn we are ALL helping more and more people in a BIG way! How amazing is that?
Back to the client I mentioned earlier, we were also able to uncover why he felt guilty spending money. It related to a deep seeded fear. Itβs important to talk about this and address what youβre afraid of. Why do you spend (or not spend) your money? What are your spending habits? This will offer you some insight as to what is really going on at the subconscious level and you can start digging it out.
