I watched a wonderful video on You Tube this week about how there were no limits when we were kids and that we need to get back to that. The video was geared towards entrepreneurs, but the message is valuable for everyone.

When we were kids we were big dreamers and felt like we could “do” and “be” anything in life. What happened to that line of thinking? Where did we lose our confidence and let our dreams slip away?

If you haven’t heard anything about the law of attraction yet, I strongly recommend that you watch the movie The Secret. It has been criticized for focusing too much on the materialistic side of things, but I think it is a wonderful introduction to this topic. Especially if you haven’t heard anything about it before (I hadn’t and was truly blown away when I watched it).

The message the movie brings is that we literally can “be” and “do” anything in life and the key to making it happen is changing our thoughts. If you believe you can do it, you can. I spoke at the local high school this week to a group of grade 10’s on the topic. What a powerful message to hear when you’re that age! The girls seemed excited at the possibilities, and we did an exercise where they wrote down the biggest thing they could think of that they want to be, do or have. Thinking big was the focus!

Chrissy, what do YOU want to be when YOU grow-up? Write it down. No one has to see this but you. If you could be anything in life, what would it be? THINK BIG!! If you have already started your own business, or have your dream job, is it everything you hoped it would be? If not, what is missing? Write down how you would like things to be. THINK BIG! One thing I want to stress is that it’s never too late. Stop settling for less. You deserve to be happy no matter what age you are 🙂

It really helps to write your dreams down. Be as detailed as possible. As you are writing it forces you to experience what it would feel like to actually live your ideal life. That is the key. Spend a few minutes every day picturing what it would be like to live your dreams. Really “feel” it. Try to activate all 5 senses and don’t forget to picture yourself doing it too. The more you believe this is possible and get excited about it, the more quickly it will happen. Don’t give up if it doesn’t happen right away, it could be just about to happen. Just believe!

Have you heard of the “She” book written by Kobi Yamada? It’s a book filled with quotes about celebrating “her”. Here is one of my favourites:

“She turned her can’ts into cans, and dreams into plans. Celebrate her goals.”
