Excuses hold us back. They keep us stuck. It’s the ego’s way of keeping us playing small. It’s the reason why people don’t make the law of attraction work fully. The opportunities come and we talk ourselves out of them. We stay right where we are. We don’t grow and we don’t move forward.

Learn the top 4 excuses that are holding you back so that you can get out of your own way today 🙂

I went to an event a little while ago on mindset held by Fabienne Fredrickson. She outlined the top four excuses people use that hold them back. As soon as I heard them I knew they were true. I am sharing them with you today with the hope that you stop telling yourself these excuses and start moving forward today, like I did when I heard 🙂

Here are the top excuses people use so they don’t have to grow and leave their comfort zones. Albeit cozy there, it is what keeps us playing small.

Excuse #1: I can’t afford it. How many times has what you’ve asked for presented itself and then you talk yourself out of it because you “think” you can’t afford it? It could be anything from a new program, a course to a business opportunity. Let me ask you this. Has the universe ever not provided for you? If you ask for something and it appears, doesn’t it make sense that the means to do it also will show up? The reality is that you probably already have the means. It’s the fear or moving forward that had you using this excuse. It’s not really about the money is it? If you cut back in one area I bet you could make it happen.

Excuse #2: I don’t have time. Here’s the thing. We’re all busy. It’s about how you decide to use your time. Is this opportunity worth changing around your schedule and making it happen? Again, it’s the fear of moving forward that keeps you from doing just that.

Excuse #3: I don’t want to travel. This one again comes back to time and money, which ultimately is about the fear of moving forward. You know you can do it.

Excuse #4: I don’t want to leave the kids. I get that your kids are important, so are mine. But isn’t the example you’re setting for them just as important? That it’s okay to follow your dreams and do what it takes? That you can run a successful business and be a great Mom (Dad)? That’s it’s okay to have a break? Remember that old saying, “absence makes the heart grow fonder”? It’s okay and it’s healthy to take a break sometimes. Think of how you can make both work.

Sorry if it sounds like I’m being harsh or laying it on the line, but I truly believe we can be, do and have anything in life with the right tools. Some of those tools are learning how to get out of our own way, so that we can play a bigger game and really live a life that we love! Yay! Take that first step today and trust that you will find your wings 🙂
