When something negative happens in your life, first notice what feelings it has invoked. How do you feel? Next, think about when you have felt this way before. This will help you dig deeper into your subconscious to see what you are holding on to. Is this a recurring theme in your life? Becoming aware is half the battle. If you are aware of why this keeps happening, you can start to deal with it on a conscious level and be rid of it once and for all 🙂

Second, look at your role in the situation. It’s easy to blame someone else, so be careful. In order to really get to the bottom of what is happening, you need to be honest. How were you an enabler? How did your actions play a part in what happened? What would you have done differently?

The third step involves reflection. The idea here is to help you move through this situation so that you don’t become stuck. What did you learn from this situation? What are the positives involved? What are you thankful for? Did deep.

Next, think about your surroundings. Do you have a supportive environment? Do you need to surround yourself with more people who are like-minded? It’s crucial to be around people whom you can be yourself and truly thrive. This will help you succeed in all areas of your life. Did you know that you are the average of the 5 people you are around most? Something to think about 🙂

After working on the above, it’s important to have lasting strategies in place that will help you stay positive. Affirmations and meditation are excellent ways of doing this. An affirmation is something that you use to shift what is happening in your subconscious. By saying positive things to yourself in the mirror, you will be essentially retraining your mind. If issues of self-worth came up for you in the first step, then you may want to say something to yourself about your confidence, i.e. “I respect myself and am more confident every day”. It will feel strange at first, but the more you do it the more natural it will become 🙂 Meditation helps us change our negativity to a broader positive perspective. It essentially pulls us out of our own drama 🙂 Relax and let go for a healthier AND happier life!
