I’m back after an exciting graduation week! Bittersweet for sure as we celebrated this milestone for our son! I am so proud of him and excited for what’s next! Be still my ❤️

My assistant let me know she was going hiking this weekend to “disconnect to reconnect” and I loved this so much I wanted to share it 🙂

Technology serves so many great purposes but can also consume us if we’re not aware of it.

My family lovingly jokes around with me about how my phone is on “do not disturb” so much, but I can’t help it! I LOVE it!

Who decided we need to be available 24/7?!

We get to decide our availability and what works for us.

And sometimes, taking time for ourselves IS a much needed appointment and counts as being BUSY!

Side note, I do have the setting on where my family can get through in case there are any emergencies.

That is one of my hacks, and another is setting down time hours on my phone so that it automatically goes into do not disturb for the night. We are on a different time zone then family back home and I’ve found this way I don’t get woken-up if messages come in with being such a light sleeper.

I also don’t look at my phone first thing when I wake-up.

I actually actively avoid it 🤣

I have my coffee and do my morning routine so that I am filling myself up before giving my energy externally.

I also try not to do email over the weekends and not to look at my phone at all on Sundays unless it’s really needed.

When I’m watching a show in the evening, my phone is as far away from me as possible. Plugged in, and on do not disturb…ahhh…

I’ve also been trying hard not to go on it when I’m with other people so that I can try to be present in the moment.

This is a work in progress for sure ❤️

I also try to leave it in the car when I’m running into appointments where I really don’t need it.

I also love going for walks where I leave it on do not disturb or don’t even bring it with me. Sometimes I love a good podcast or audiobook, and others it’s just nice just to absorb all of the nature 💚

All of these “hacks” help me break the addiction around the phone and to not be overcome by it.

What are your favourite hacks?!
