No moreThis is a bit of a play on words, because I’m using “killer” in the sense of create an awesome environment that is supportive of your success BUT it is also about “letting go” of what is not working.

Having a supportive environment that enables you to thrive is a HUGE part of achieving the success level you desire. Think of how much better you did as a child, when you were encouraged and shown love. Think of a plant that grows and thrives as result of being watered and cared for. It’s the same thing.

You are the average of the 5 people you hang around.

You’ve probably heard that before, but take a minute to really think about this. Who you surround yourself with and interact with makes a big difference. Are they supportive of your growth? Are they encouraging you? Are they challenging you to be the best you can be? Are they inspiring you to play and love bigger? These are the people you want to be in your life on a consistent basis. Even though it might seem hard to believe, you get to decide. Life isn’t something that happens to you. You make the decision on how you want to live it. This means setting boundaries with others and learning how to say no.

I taught a leadership seminar at Pitzer College last year, and was amazed at how many twenty-something’s also struggle with this issue – how to say no. As people pleasers, it’s hard to say no. Once you start saying no to things you no longer want to do, you will become empowered and liberated. It feels GREAT!

Think about it this way though, when you take care of yourself – meaning you’re doing what you love, enjoying the people in your life – how much better are you able to serve those that you’re meant to serve? You will have more energy and be coming from a place of joy when helping them. On the flip side, if you’re tired, drained or resentful, you will not be able to serve others in the best way possible.

Choose one sentence as your go to response for saying no, and practice it often. I’m going to challenge you here – practice saying no 10 times this upcoming week. If it’s not an absolute yes, it’s a no!

It’s also important to look at your physical environment. We you are surrounded by beauty and an inspiring atmosphere, you will thrive even more. You are essentially raising your vibration. Raising your vibration is important for attracting more to you that is vibrating at a high vibration – aka abundant opportunities. What can you change right now? Maybe it’s creating an official home office, or buying fresh flowers. Make one change this week and a list of others you can continue to make each week. A helpful tip – is to get rid of anything you are tolerating. This can be anything from an old painting to your grand mother’s china. It relates to your entire environment, not just your workspace.
