When you want to make more time in your life, a great place to start is by taking an inventory of what you are tolerating. A toleration is anything we put up with that needs to be taken care of. Every time we think about having to do it, this takes away time and energy we could be using for something else. This can range from a relationship we are putting up with to scheduling an appointment, to getting the car fixed.

Tip#1: Your Environment

What are you tolerating at home? Make a list of 5 – 10 items. Some examples are: cleaning the carpets, new drapes, painting, a new geographic location, etc.

Tip#2: Your Work

What are you putting up with at work? Make a list of 5 – 10 items. Some examples are: wrong line of work, a relationship with a boss or colleague, unorganized office space, long commute, etc.

Tip#3: Relationships

Are you tolerating different people in your life? Is there a conversation you need to have? Make a list of 5 – 10 things. Some examples are: an overbearing family member, someone who doesn’t respect your decisions, someone you don’t feel good around, a child not respecting your rules, etc. What conversations do you need to have?

Choose one toleration from each section to tackle this week. Pick a date to do it by. Notice how great you feel when each one has been dealt with. By clearing out some of these things, you will notice an increase in energy and more time to do what you love. Have fun 🙂

“Most of our obstacles would melt away if, instead of cowering before them, we should make up our minds to walk boldly through them.”
