Chrissy, did you have a relaxing summer and are now back into the swing of things only to find you are spinning your wheels? Do you have so much to do that you feel overwhelmed? Making a schedule will help you maximize your time and give you the FREEDOM you crave. Sticking to your schedule will lead to you being more productive & efficient during your work hours. Here are 4 strategies to help you do just that.

Since last week’s article was all about setting boundaries with clients and how to create the office hours you desire, we won’t get into that again here. If you missed it, you can read it on my blog. Enjoy!

Tip No. 1 – Schedule in time for your schedule. It’s best to have a monthly schedule AND a weekly schedule. Allot some time this week to plan your month. This means adding in everything to your calendar. This will force you to be aware of what you have going on at a monthly glance. What day & time can you commit to doing this every month? Put it in your calendar.

Then spend some time looking at your weekly schedule. What day & time can you commit to doing this every week? Put it in your calendar.

Tip No. 2 – What days & times will you make time for focus, flex and free time? Focus time is for working creatively on projects. Flex time is for phone calls, emails and appointments. Free time is for just you! Time spent however you want, i.e. with friends, family or just by yourself! For example, Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. will be used for focus time. Every day from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. will used for flex time. Fridays from 12:00 p.m. on will be for free time…you get the picture 🙂

Tip No. 3 – Think about batching. Can you batch all of your appointments into specific days & times? For example, if you need to leave the house for any appointments, can you get them done every Thursday? This works great for personal tasks too, i.e. laundry every Wednesday.

Tip No. 4 – Schedule in time for yourself. The more time you make for this the better you will feel. This leads to being more creative and fun to be around! It’s a win-win all around! Start off small and schedule in something just for you (like a massage) once a month. You will be addicted in no time and will want to make time for yourself a weekly priority! When you connect with yourself you will be more creative AND have more energy. This will positively effect your business AND life in ENORMOUS ways!!!
