I had a great time being an exhibitor at both the San Diego and Orange County ewomen meetings this week! It was awesome to connect with new business owners and a pleasant surprise to run into some very dear friends as well. This organization definitely attracts a great group of women. A lot of people are talking about happiness and I am a little intrigued by it. What is happiness? What does it mean to be happy? How does one become happy? I’ve put together what I’ve come to learn about happiness. Continue reading below.

Per Wikipedia, which you can definitely take or leave, happiness is a mental or emotional state of well being characterized by positive or pleasant emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy.
It then goes on to say that a variety of biological, psychological, religious, and philosophical approaches have striven to define happiness and identify its sources. That is interesting. Why does it have to be such a big mystery?
I’ve put together what I’ve come to learn about happiness:
Happiness is doing what you love.
Happiness is letting go of thoughts no longer serving you; like anger, resentment, and envy.
Happiness is filling others with your love.
Happiness is knowing you can do anything you want, to truly be limitless.
Happiness is creativity.
Happiness is being love.
Happiness is letting go of expectations.
Happiness is setting boundaries.
Happiness is kindness.
Happiness is having a warm heart.
Happiness is abundance.
Happiness is bliss.
Happiness is letting other people’s comments and behaviour roll off your back.
Happiness is success. Success in knowing that you have everything you need.
Happiness is faith. Faith in the unknown and the powers that be.
Happiness is trust.
Happiness is seeing your value and knowing you are enough.
Happiness is letting go and surrendering to the bigger plan for you.
Happiness is not control.
Happiness is flexibility.
Happiness is forgiving yourself and others.
Happiness is being yourself.
Happiness is loving yourself.
Happiness is letting go of judgment.
Happiness doesn’t compare.
Happiness is connection.
Happiness is BE-ing.
Happiness is living.
Happiness is good health.
Happiness is peace.
Happiness is your birthright.
Happiness is a state of mind.
Happiness is available to you right now.
Happiness is a choice.
Happiness is perspective.
Happiness is definitely not settling for less.
How many business owners, and people in general, do you know that are truly happy? Living their ideal lifestyle and dreams, not worrying, and just enjoying life? The reality is this can be tough and it can be a struggle. It involves a constant check-in and shift in perspective. It’s basically about getting out of your own way. It’s available and waiting for you. Just say yes. Step out of the struggle and start doing what you love in all areas of your life, and throughout your entire day. Life is too short to not. Live limitless.
